(Powerpoint Presentation - 3MB)

The YouWho Coalition is an initiative established in 2000 to unite community-based efforts statewide to improve outcomes for children and families. It has come about in recognition of the great need to consolidate efforts to improve child well being in Louisiana. Its motto is: If not now, when? If not You, Who?

The coalition is working to create common ground on which diverse, child-concerned organizations can stand united. Recognizing that there is strength in numbers, the coalition is actively seeking members. All organizations with an interest in children are welcome to participate.

The Coalition has created the Covenant with Louisiana's Children modeled after a similar program in North Carolina. Coalition members are asked to sign on to the Covenant and pledge to work toward its principles. The Covenant covers six primary issues that directly relate to six work groups. These work groups are charged with identifying priority issues. Once approved by the full coalition, the work group priorities will comprise the year's platform. In addition to adhering to the six "promises" of the Covenant, member organizations are asked to participate in a work group, allow their name to be used on the Coalition's documents and actively advance the group's platform.

YouWho will promote children’s issue to the forefront of our society by positively influencing the knowledge, attitudes, and actions of public officials and the general public. YouWho will serve as the leader of the most effective statewide children’s coalition to improve outcomes for children and their families.
